Trickster's Realm: "I Tell Everybody"

My current piece for Tim Binnall at his site. Some witnessess share, some don't, some share with a select few, and a few, like my friend "Jason" is very in-your-face about what's happened to him, and if you don't believe him, that's not his problem, it's yours. I like it.

On This Date...

Laika...
 byAlfred Lehmberg

A hapless female—mongrel—dog ablates in icy space... Unloved and disrespected, yet a credit to the race. She starved to death; her air ran out; she burned up, but she suffered. She was the one, the first in space—concern not made, or offered.

She's "just a dog," beneath regard of shiny *honored* man. She was so completely terrified, and she couldn't understand. Her ass was shaved—electrodes placed—this side of vivisection—then blasted into inky space, bereft of all affection.

Laika was the small dog's name I commemorate with verse. She's the one so chosen, and in space she was the first. Of all the flesh that ever was from right back to the Cambrian, she's the first to breath in space—our very special champion.

Forty years and then they choose... to honor with a plaque... the sacrifice she made unasked; though it caused her death, in fact. Better late than never, but 'twould been much better still to—long ago—have placed her stone on the highest-sun washed hill.

For half a year she spun the sky, to Earth at last, ablaze. I wonder that some saw her as she burned up in those flames. Perhaps a child, chance looking up, to see her shooting star, made a wish for her own puppy while she ate a candy bar.

Godfather of Ufology?

When you egregiously slander the character of someone because they fall contrary to your whacked-out, right wing, and nut-ball personal belief systems, you're fair game. At every opportunity presenting itself I will push the edge of my literary hand into your throat. Block this Mr. Ecker.

Ended by War?

Don Ecker is ever breaking slanderous "eggs" for inedible "omelets." Seemingly a lover of war*, or the physically and psychologically maimed kids war produces, he is fond of attaching the proceeding to what he passes off as "reportage" to be consumed at Gene Steinberg's Gulled Standard Paracast Board. He signs off with every post:

"...Except For Ending Slavery, Fascism, Nazism, and Communism, WAR has Never Solved Anything!"

I've seen this repellent admonition for years and have always been revolted by its reflex ignorance and insentient hoo-rah. It's the kind of statement made at dinner with reasonably with-it people provoking everyone to look at their plates in abject and astonished embarrassment, then filling lungs for outraged protest! Though, one senses that there can be no argument or discussion with a person who would chest-beat such an appalling and unenlightened remark.  This is forgetting that it is a remark so far off the mark.  Consider!

Slavery? Ended by war? Not when real slavery is just switched out for wage slavery, Mr. Ecker – minimum wages leavened with union busting, zero unemployment benefits, zero workman's compensation, zero social security, zero Medicare, failing trickle-down, forced employment, and ironically, homeless Vets!  All you stand for.  See, real slaves, significant dollar investments, at least had to be fed, sheltered, and "seen to."  Don't have to do that with your wage slave, eh?

Here was the real reason slavery ended, Mr. Ecker. It was becoming unprofitable and had to be born anew! Your war is the ironic facilitator of that rebirth!

I suspect you support the new slavery! We won't belabor the reinvention of slavery in America–with one in a hundred persons (one in nine if you're black) doing time at any one time–your wars are doing nothing to stop!

Fascism and Nazism? Ended by war? Not when the war insured that it would only be transplanted, wholesale Mr. Ecker, to the United States and elsewhere to display all the same telling signs and obviate spoor! Signs and spoor? 1. Powerful and escalating expressions of overweening, overbearing, and unwarranted "us/them" nationalism (why do you hate america?)! 2. Utter contempt for the importance of human rights (...can you spell Lilly Ledbetter?)! 3. ID of enemies/scapegoats as a "unifying" cause (Damn teachers, beat cops, and firemen)! 4. The supremacy of the military-cheering militarism (More than the next top ten combined)! 5. Rampant sexism (legitimate rape)! 6. A controlled mass media! (Duh!) 7. Pathological and disingenuous "national security" concerns (Those are my genitals, TSA man!) 8. Religion and the ruling elite tied inextricably together (Hello Religious right)! 9. Power of corporations increased, protected, and well facilitated ("corporations are people, too!") 10. Power of labor suppressed, eliminated, and even humiliated (No strikes since Reagan!) 11. Disdain and suppression of legitimate intellectuals and the instructive arts, even education! (...bet that gives you wood!) 12. Obsession with crime and punishment (see "slavery" above)! 13. Rampant cronyism and corruption (good work, Brownie)! 14. Contrived and Fraudulent elections! (Romney buys voting machines in Ohio!) ...And last... but certainly not least, 15. Being Tediously unfunny! Fascism and Nazism? They live! You are their glad instrument!

Communism? Ended by War? We'll forget for a moment that Communism is first conceived as a reaction to an unfettered, unrestricted, and unregulated tyranny of the elite you pander to, an elite responsible for turning the planet–outside of guarded and gated communities few will ever see–into a "garbage Island" ensconced in the middle of a toxic cesspool. Here you'll find hapless denizens of a corporate hell on Earth on guard for rat tails in their hamburger, hamburger subsidized by minimum wages in wage slave sweat shops, and all owing their souls to the company store: The new Capitalist golden age! No, Mr. Ecker, Communism is not ended, rather it is supported by trillions of dollars in your debt to the communist Chinese!

Worse than a man with no sense of his history, Mr. Ecker is the man who will distort same, reader, and in the name of self-serving, and I suspect insincere, patriotism. He did it with me.

Wrong on so many levels just right here, one wonders what else Don Ecker is "off the beam" about. "Godfather" of ufology? Let him swim with fishes!

Mr. Ecker won't answer this. Don Ecker answers for nothing–especially hypocrisy.

What else indeed!

UFO Expert Tracks Flatwoods Monster Case!

  • The amazing headline that day in 1952 wasn't from Amazing Stories, that science fiction magazine.
  • Instead the headline — "Saucer Talk in 4 States" — appeared on Page 2 in the Sept. 13, 1952 edition of the Daytona Beach Evening News.
  • The Associated Press story, datelined Baltimore, reported that "a fiery object that streaked through the night sky with a 'great greenish white light' stirred 'flying saucer' talk among residents of four states from Maryland to Tennessee last night ... Persons throughout Virginia saw what they variously described as 'a big star,' 'a flying saucer' and something 'like a flaming jet plane.' "
  • The AP story also appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe and dozens of other newspapers.
  • But the story was about to get more amazing, even downright weird...

UFOs In Particular...

The ostensibly "serious" and "respected" learned...

UFOs In Particular
 by Alfred Lehmberg
(From UFOM Vol 24 #5)

The ostensibly "serious" and "respected" learned of our torrid and anxious community decries the "carnival atmosphere" of studies "paranormal" in general and UFOs in particular.  These persons aforementioned—self-assured that they are at the cutting edge of reasonable entelechy— (1) bemoan the tolerated huckster. They (2) lament the lack of qualified peer review.  They (3) weep regarding the "provoked disinterest of mainstream science."  Finally, (4) they rather toothlessly bewail the incorrigibly inconsistent and even damaging protocols employed by suspicious "amateurs" in the field.  How dare they?

"BASHFUL BILLY"

What everyone needs to remember is that this event and sister events occured at the end of the biggest UFO flap in United States UFO history and on the heels of freshly minted orders to the military to shoot those UFOs down... significant to note?  The Flatwoods people didn't know about the Snitowski's who, in turn, didn't know about "Bashful Billy affair."

The Braxton County Monster
--REVISED EDITION--

"BASHFUL BILLY" Alien of Wheeling, WV
60th Anniversary Incident

In the aftermath of the terrifying "Flatwoods Monster" and "Frametown Monster" incidents occurring in Braxton County on September 12th and 13th in 1952, yet another alien "Monster" was said to have been sighted in West Virginia on Monday, September 15, 1952.

This incident occurred near Wheeling in the Vineyard Hills Housing Development about five miles from the famous Oglebay Park Resort. Only three days earlier, during the September 12, 1952 UFO flap at Flatwoods, a damaged UFO had gone down in the Oglebay Park area. Not as well-known as the two previous Braxton County close encounters recently recounted, this mysterious "Monster" incident also reflects the incidence of being quickly covered-up by officials.

More at this link!

On September 16, 1952, an article on the front page of the Wheeling Intelligencer reported, "'Monster' From Outer Space Arrives Here Via Saucer." The opening stated, "'Bashful Billy,'" the monster from outer space and southern West Virginia, arrived in Wheeling by flying saucer yesterday and promptly set tongues wagging and telephones burning."  Notice the reflex ridicule in the article above.

The article also stated, "One call to the Intelligencer offices asked if it was true that the horribly burned body of a woman was found at Vineyard Hills and that a policeman was burned mysteriously about the arm... Callers also reported that an unpleasant odor was produced by the monster."  Similar bells seem decidedly rung between this and the previous two affairs at Flatwoods and Frametown.

The Fairmont Times article of September 16, 1952, "Green-Eyed Monster Again Reported on Loose in state," reported that "Bashful Billy" was a "10-foot tall monster from another world" and was said to be "gas-breathing."

Was the "body of a horribly burned woman" really found by the Wheeling locals on the pandemonium that was Monday in Vineyard Hills?  Or, was this the cover story to hide the truth of a horribly burned alien body found there after being dropped off from a damaged UFO three days earlier during the September 12 flap?  Curious and more curious, still.

The Wheeling Intelligencer continued to follow this "Monster" story. On September 17, 1952, it reported yet two more sightings of another monster called a "roving monster." These sightings occurred on Tuesday September 16, 1952 in nearby Ohio. One caller contacted the Wheeling newspaper and reported that, "his grandchildren were 'almost scared to death' by something they had seen." Another Ohio caller reported, "It was 10-15 feet tall and had a green body and red head."  More familiar bells!

Was this "roving monster" actually another alien looking for the ostensibly stranded alien found dead already by the Wheeling locals the day before?  What was happening "really," in the center of West Virginia?

Read the entire story, all the accompanying articles regarding these amazing incidents, and other documented incidents provoking hapless locals into a terrified frenzy... in Frank Feschino's new book, "The Braxton County Monster-REVISED EDITION-The Cover-up of the Flatwoods Monster Revealed."  This is real.

The Braxton County Monster Returns?

The 60th Anniversary of the
Snitowsky and Frametown Monster Incident
(A sister event to the Flatwoods affair)

Twenty-four hours after the "Braxton County Monster" incident occurred in Flatwoods, yet another terrifying alien close encounter occurred in Braxton County, about 17-miles away in the Frametown area.

On September 13, 1952, George Snitowsky, his wife Edith and 18-month son were driving through the mountainous roads from Frametown, on their way back home to New York.  Abruptly, their car inexplicably stalled and died by the deserted and car-less roadside.

George attempted to start the car but to no avail.  Suddenly, the air around him became engulfed with a noxious foggy mist smelling like a mixture of ether and burnt sulfur.

Moments later, just after he'd gotten back into his car, a dazzling beam of deep purple light flashed across the hood!  It emanated from the nearby woods. The scene quickly became dire as the stench penetrated the interior of the car and the baby started crying uncontrollably.

As everyone was gagging and heaving, George got out intent on investigating the brilliant light in the woods. As he got closer to it he was to become dumbfounded when he clearly saw a glowing UFO hovering behind some nearby trees! Electrical charges filled the air along with the sickening stench surrounding him, he quickly turned and headed back to the relative safety of the car.

As George neared his car, he staggered, briefly, against a tree attempting to regain his balance and catch his breath.  Suddenly, a blood-curding scream filled the air as Edith tried to warn George of the impending danger behind him. Clutching the baby, the hysterical wife pointed to a huge 9-foot tall alien that was hovering in place about 30-feet away from him.

George's knees buckled when he turned and saw a huge reptilian-looking being!  He was later able to describe the alien as having a bloated body with long spindly anthropoid arms forking into only two thick, if equally spindly, fingers. Suddenly, without any warning, the being moved towards him. George said the figure seemed to glide acoss the surface of the road.  He further described the lower torso as being a solid mass, a conveyance. Furthermore, it was the source of the sickening sulfur permeating the air.

The huge alien quickly hovered towards Snitowsky, followed him back to the car—even stalked the hysterical couple circling their automobile for a time!  Other weirdness ensued...

This hair-raising incident, among many others, can be read in its entirety—with accompanying illustrations—in Frank C. Feschino's new book:

Today Is 60 Year Anniversary Of The Famed "Flatwoods Monster" Event!

BRAXTON COUNTY MONSTER
60TH ANNIVERARY September 12, 1952 - September 12, 2012

Around dusk on September 12, 1952, the small country town of Flatwoods, West Virginia slipped irretrievably into a real-world Twilight Zone.  By report: A flaming UFO flew directly overhead at treetop level, made a hard 90 degree left turn, and then settled behind the trees on a hilltop just southeast of the location of a small group of witnesses standing, justifiably, slack-jawed! Very shortly thereafter, several local residents went in search of the large downed "object," indeed landing nearby on the now famous Bailey Fisher Farm.

During their intrepid quest to find the downed object, the group was abruptly terrified when they very unexpectedly encountered what might be the 12-foot-tall occupant of said damaged craft, after it had perhaps sought refuge along the bordering woods of the bare hilltop landing zone, but coming out at them from behind a huge white oak, lit up like a Christmas tree!

This "strange occupant," later called the "Braxton County Monster" or "Flatwoods Monster," was very likely a huge and hovering metallic-like structure acting as what might be called a vehicular probe or conveyance. The witnesses, often and from the beginning, compared it to a mechanical spacesuit... with something seemingly sentient inside; a "being," even... a "being" clad in a protective suit of armor.

Within days, the story of the "Braxton County Monster" became as far-reaching as named newspapers and radio stations around the United States—mainstream media vociferously telling the story of this "gigantic unknown alien visitor"—will make it far-reaching!  Not restricted to the United States, it was not to be the end of the story!

One week later the two main adult witnesses—plus the Braxton County newspaper reporter involved—appeared on the very popular national TV Magazine show called, "We the People."  Here, the television sketch artist hurriedly talked to the witnesses and so very incorrectly illustrated this giant mechanical occupant—rendering it instead to appear as a pumpkin headed, cloth hooded, and claw-waving "monster"— a monster wearing a sweet-sixteen skirt and hovering a foot or so off the ground!

To add insult to injury, the Intelligence officials at Project Blue Book stated the witnesses "probably saw an owl perched on a tree limb" and that the "underbrush below" may have "given the impression of a giant figure." "In their excitement, they imagined the rest," it was said! Moreover, the alien occupant's damaged craft, which had flown additionally West over Washington, DC, in flames, landed in Flatwoods!  It was officially claimed to be "the well-known Washington area meteor."  Folks, that "meteor" was in the air over 21 hours, flew at slow speeds and changed direction many times!  I'll let the reader decide what kind of meteor it was!

Yes, a cover-up was quickly put in place as Americans panicked over the already record amount of UFO sightings occurring over the United States that whole year! Furthermore, the Flatwoods incident occurred only six-weeks after the USAF had ominously revealed, to wit: that "the jet pilots are, and have been, under orders to investigate unidentified objects, and to "shoot them down," reader, "if they can't talk them down"!  Cue the crisis music!

Over the years, the story became fatuously and grossly distorted!  Rumors ran riotous, rampant, and roughshod over the townspeople! Said townspeople consequently became tired of the insulting inconsistencies written about the incident. The eyewitnesses, themselves, were subsequently singled out for special attention—were ridiculed tirelessly and mercilessly—while the "Flatwoods Monster" was written-off and relegated, over the years, to a quaint West Virginia tale of "hillbilly folklore." The American government's massive cover-up of this close encounter incident was indeed a well executed plan lasting many years. ...But even the best of cover-ups have holes in them!  Torn evidentiary seams eventually split open to reveal the truth!

Buy The Book!

Forty-years after this amazing incident occurred; Frank C. Feschino Jr. discovered the "Braxton County Monster" story and began looking into it. That is when Aviation history was changed. Tirelessly, he has now spent more than twenty-years investigating the Flatwoods incident!   This is the longest investigation ever conducted into the case in record, thus Feschino is THE subject matter expert on this astonishing event!

At last, sixty-years after the incident, Frank Feschino, Jr. has released his new book, "The Braxton County Monster—REVISED EDITION—the Cover-up of the 'Flatwoods Monster' Revealed."  Now, the entire and non-redacted truth of this incident is told in Feschino's amazing book, which records this entire 20-year investigation!

Larry Bailey     --     Alfred Lehmberg

Frank Feschino, Jr.  --   Stanton Fiedman

Most humbly, this being the 60th anniversary of this terrifying incident: Frank Feschino Jr., Stanton Friedman, and Alfred Lehmberg—among other significant colleagues—would like to take a moment to remember the Braxton County witnesses who worked unfailingly and unstintingly with Frank.  These have since passed on during the writing of his new "Braxton County Monster" book, and live on only in the video and written record. Without them, the truth of "Braxton County Monster" incident could not be known.

In remembrance of:

  • Colonel Dale Leavitt, WV National Guard commander in 1952, who went to the Flatwoods landing site with a heavy Battalion of Army troops shortly after the incident.

  • Mrs. Kathleen May, primary eyewitness to the "Flatwoods Monster," who came within a few feet of the figure during her close encounter.

  • Lee Stewart, Jr, photojournalist who first interviewed the witnesses and then broke the "Flatwoods Monster" story to the news press.

  • Margaret Clise, former Flatwoods Mayor, who saw the damaged craft fly over Flatwoods at low-level, just before it landed on the farm!

  • Jack Davs, local businessman, who saw the damaged craft pass over Flatwoods and then land on the Fisher Farm a few moments later.

  • Harvey Wolf, former aerospace physicist, who worked with Lockheed and assisted Frank with his research.

  • A special rememberance to USAF F-94 fighter pilot 2nd Lt. John A. Jones, Jr. and radar observer, John DelCurto. These men both perished in their jet on September 12, 1952 under mysterious circumstances.

In honor of the 60th Anniversary of the Flatwoods Green Monster, a special thank you goes out to stalwarts John Clise, doting son of Margaret above and the editor of the "Central West Virginian" newspaper, the witness Fred May, the whole of the May family, and all the other families, witnesses and assistants who worked with Frank to tell the real story of the "Braxton County Monster" in his new "REVISED EDITION."

Near last but not least, Frank and his colleagues wish to thank Mr. Larry Bailey of Brothers Bailey Promotions for his professional support with this project and a special thank you to the Law Firm of Bowles, Rice, McDavid, Graft & Love, LLP, for making the book a reality.

Finally, Frank C. Feschino, Jr's, 20-year UFO research project is ultimately dedicated to the brave American fighter pilots and other flyers who scrambled their aircraft into the dark skies of the wholly unknown after UFOs to "shoot them down," but never returned home.

The Braxton County Monster: A Strange Machine Or A Barn Owl?

In his 1953 book, "Flying Saucers from Outer Space," pioneer UFO researcher Donald Keyhoe wrote about his January 1953 telephone conversation with Albert Chop, USAF public liaison. The topic of the conversation was the "Braxton County Monster."
.
 Mr. Chop told Mr. Keyhoe the Air Force's explanation for the "monster," which was purely speculative. Chop stated:
 .
"The group did see two glowing eyes, PROBABLY those of a large owl perched on a limb."
 .
"Underbrush below MAY HAVE GIVEN the impression of a giant figure."
 .
"In their excitement they IMAGINED the rest."
"Say whaaa..."

.
In Joe Nickell's "investigative" article on the Flatwoods case, he writes the following about the Air Force's explanation and then adds his "opinion":
 .
"I believe this generic solution is correct...Several elements in the witnesses descriptions help identify the Flatwoods creature specifically 'Tyto alba', the common barn owl, known almost worldwide."
 .
"Considering all the characteristics of the described monster, and making allowances for misinterpretations and other distorting factors, we may conclude (adapting an old adage) that if it looks like a barn owl, acted like a barn owl, and hissed, then it most likely was a barn owl,"
 .
"And so a spooked barn owl in turn spooked the interlopers and a monster was born."

.
Now, let us go back to the first article to appear in the WV press, where the witnesses described the so-called "Monster." This article appeared in the Charleston Daily Mail on Sunday, Sept. 14, 1952, "Braxton Co. Residents Faint Become Ill After Run-In with 10-Foot Monster." Information states: .
"They said it had a black shield affair in the shape of an ace of spades behind it and wore what looked lke a pleated metallic shirt (sic) skirt."
.
Here, the black shield affair was actually an outer helmet covering the red head, which was actually an inner helmet. The pleated metallic skirt was in reality the lower torso of the figure that was surrounded by thick pipes.
.
On September 15, 1952, the next article that described the "Monster" appeared in The Charleston Gazette. The article headline read, "Braxton Monster Left Skid Tracks Where He Landed. (Special to the Gazette)."
.
The source information for this article came from A. Lee Stewart, Jr. who was a photojournalist and co-owner of the "Braxton Democrat" newspaper in Sutton. He was the very first person to talk to and interview all of the eyewitnesses. The article stated the following:
 .
"SUTTON. Sept 14-The phantom of Flatwoods:
 .
...Left tracks from six to eight feet apart. Wore a suit of green armor...looked like a mechanical man... Was 10 feet tall, four feet wide. Had a blood-red face. Sported a black, spade-like cowl, which extended a foot or more above its head. It had claw-like 'toy' hands too, and orange-green eyes the size of half-dollars, according to Mrs. Kathleen May...'It lit up like a Christmas tree,' Mrs. May said, with some sort of interior lighting system."
 .

Later that week, on September 19, 1952, the innacurate drawing of the "Monster" appeared on the TV show "WE THE PEOPLE." The figure was portrayed as a cloth-cloaked, skirt-wearing being with long arms and claws.
.
During his 20-year investigation into this case, Frank Feschino interviewed and taped many of the eyewitnesses involved in the incident. Here are some of the quotes from those interviews:
 .
Mrs. May:
.
"We got close enough to it so I could see exactly what it was...I was as close to it as the length of a small car. I was close enough that it squirted oil out all over my uniform" *
"The thing lit up fom the inside."
 .
"It looked more metallic."
 .
"Now, it didn't have arms...It looked like, something like antennae sticking out from it, between the body and the head."
 .
"The head was a red color. Now right around the neck it looked like the neck would rotate."
 *
"It was just kind of floating. It was about a foot to a foot and a half off the ground."
 .
Fred May: "It was mechanical; it was not alive. Maybe inside the thing - there could have been something that was alive. What I saw was either a small spaceship or suit of some of kind. Something it was wearing. It was mecanical."
 .
Fred May: "Over the head was a big ace- of-spades covering, it was somthing that looked like a helmet, and I think it was."
 .
Fred May: "What mother described as the pleats of hanging drapes, were actually tubes running vertically...They were metal, they were actually metal pipes...They were as thick as my arm."
Fred May: "The eyes were portholes."

.
Feschino, a school trained illustrator and painter actually worked with these witnesses on numerous occassions and did police-style renderings of the so-called "Monster."
.
He also interviewed Fred May at the site of the encounter near the oak tree and was told additional details.
.
21 years of intrepid research and cogent scholarship on the part of Frank Feschino are not impugned by the likes of the less than salient Joe Nickell... Giant Owls? Not before the incident... not after. Hallucinatory Gas? Not before the incident... not after. Oil-oozing Pick-ups? Not before the incident... not after.  Combine the "White-House-Overflying Summer Of Saucers" in 1952 with the freshly minted Military "Shoot *Them* Down" orders... and you get Flatwoods on September 12th, 1952!
.
The reader might consider, too, that persons living for generations in a locale become abundantly familiar with the flora and fauna of their environment.  Roc sized barn owls are remarkably absent from the local lore.

No, if the reader is interested in the details of this compelling true life science fiction tale...?

Super Soylent... But Not Very Salient!

"...Then it's so much trash to be thrown out with the evening garbage..."  SuperSoylent2  on YouTube

Exactly!  I suspect that's what one should do with uncorroborated, biased, and inaccurate reportage from anonymous and voice-boxed blockheads reporting from cowardly shadows with only the ax of their facile and unimaginative debunkery to grind, eh? To wit: "noisome negativists," who laugh up damp sleeves at that which they have no capacity to understand, no aptitude to accept, no ability to incorporate, and no skill to recognize!

It's the "troll" hiding nameless in the shadows and disguising his voice in the first place, removing contrary content in the second, flinging ignorant invective in the third, and remaining non-salient if "SuperSoylant" in the fourth, eh? That's OK, you can still read about it here...
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stanton T. Friedman on the "Braxton County
Monster-REVISED EDITION" 2012 book writes:

In Frank C. Feschino's new revised edition 2012 book about the "Braxton County Monster," UFO expert and nuclear physicist Mr. Friedman, states the following in his forward of the book: I was particularly intrigued to find that Frank's persistence and hard work had involved important and unique sources including first-time videotaped interviews with key witnesses...

 Since the 2004 edition of this book was printed, Frank continued his relentless Flatwoods research and added much more information to this new updated book. Over the past eight years, we continued to collaborate, met at several UFO confernces and discussed his recently found information.

This information includes Air Force documents that supply evidence connected to the UFO events of September 12, 1952. This new information contained here, fits into the timeline of events that Frank has established and shows us that a massive cover-up was indeed in place.

Additionally, I was also able to obtain President Harry Truman's telephone call memorandum for September 12, 1952, which I gave to Frank. That information also appears in this revised edition book and adds greatly to the timeline of events that occurred on that day...

An important aspect of the Flatwoods case besides the United States government's endevor to cover-up this incident, is the attempt by UFO debunkers to try to explain away this astounding and important event. Particularly persistent in his negative attack has been Dr. Joe Nickell...

His explanation of a six-foot tall barn owl and a meteor crash is absurd...Astronomy experts have provided Frank with the fact that there are only three instances on record in West Virginia of recovered meteorites and none were on September 12, 1952.

A six-foot owl that puts out a noxious vapor, has never been reported before or since, and certainly sounds like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole...especially when here was no report of moving wings. All the eyewitness testimonies of the so-called "monster" actually indicate it was a mechanical device about 12-feet tall. The myth of the so-called "monster" has finally been revealed in this book.

The Braxton County Monster

HISTORICAL UFO BOOK RELEASED
The Braxton County Monster
 REVISED EDITION
 The Cover-Up of the Flatwoods Monster Revealed

Author Frank C. Feschino, Jr. has released his latest book after an
ongoing 20-year investigation into the "Braxton County Monster" incident
of 1952.

Feschino, who has become the authority of this well-known UFO close encounter incident, has researched and investigated this case longer than any other researcher in American history.

Thought by many to be a "folklore" story involving a skirted "Monster," the author shatters that old tale and takes the reader on an in depth journey into the UFO events of September 12, 1952 and reveals there was much more to the original incident than the public had remotely realized.

In his new book, Feschino explains the unfolding UFO events that occurred before, during and after the terrifying "Flatwoods Monster" incident and shows there was much more to the incident than a so-called "Monster" which roamed the mountains of Flatwoods and terrified a group of local citizens.

By utilizing official United States government documents, Air Force Blue Book documents, first-hand eyewitness interviews, newspaper accounts and several other reputable sources, Frank C. Feschino, Jr. clearly shows how a massive cover-up was put in place by the United States government to hide an alien invasion on the night in question.

Mr. Feschino's new book is a historical account about the "Braxton County Monster" incident.  It is  the most detailed and complete book ever written about the incident. What took the United States government a couple of days to cover-up took Frank C. Feschino, Jr. more than twenty years to unravel and uncover!   You won't believe it, but it's true.

Ufological Certainty

Ufological Certainty
Review and Commentary regarding James Fox's
Film Documentary 'UFOs--Out Of The Blue'

By Alfred Lehmberg
(FIRST PUBLISHED IN UFO MAGAZINE)

James Fox provides abundant citation for same: UFOs are not "real" so much as UFOs are an absolute certainty, eh?  Let that soak in.

Indeed, find they are a certainty of a type that is sure and beyond all rational skepticism, surely!  They are a certainty, moreover, belying the ponderous arguments of your garden-variety klasskurtxian or faux-skeptic. Science says so.

Consequently?  You're allowed to smooth your feathers down and pull worried furrows from your forehead. Verily, un-bunch your panties, pilgrim!  It's the future!

See?  UFOs are a certainty measured in a number so close to the whole number "one," or one hundred percent, that the impossibly TINY remainder -- that mega-microscopic difference of undaunted doubt, my friend... just disappears!

Yes, that doubt, good neighbor, is without a scintilla or a shred of any MEANING, the remotest SUBSTANCE, the most insignificant VALUE... or the smallest SIGNIFICANCE!  Such is the CERTAINTY that we are not alone in the universe!  If they can be there, they can be here.

Whoa, huh?  Pardon all those caps, please... but certainty.

Moreover, virtually all the major propeller noggins, bionic-brainiacs, high-domes, and eggheads think so, too!  Along with the august group aforementioned are a vast majority of educated persons who additionally believe humankind landed on the moon!  That's right!  Certainty!

Major religious apologists think so. Respected groups of scientists, government executives, and professional people think so. This writer thinks so. It is more likely than not that the reader thinks so, too... Certainty!

Tilt!

So, how is it, then, that there is this disconnect between our belief and behavior, our intent and actuality, or our information and cognition? From what presupposed "where" comes this steadfast refusal to acknowledge this *certainty* regarding UFOs and then progressing accordingly?

Indeed, what generates this inexplicable lack of interest in rejecting the tedious ignorance endured, an ignorance that a -- special-interest-oriented -- corporate *leadership* stealthily imposes upon us? Why do we continue to tolerate these duplicitous in mal-leadership, these biased and canted officials who facilitate the rank and file of us -- you and me reader --  to giggle up our sleeves in mocking denial... of this gargantuan CERTAINTY that is the UFO?

A more rational, intelligent and far-looking approach, alternatively, is accepting this valid certainty regarding "new people" in previously "undiscovered countries"... "across the rivers of imagination" previously uncrossed. Admittedly, these are intellectual rivers we are tardy in learning how to cross! In other words, a new approach to UFOs acknowledges "new people" not of this Earth ... It cops to the Extraterrestrials... It admits to Aliens! ...And Aliens a little more advanced than we are, too, on more than a few levels.

Lower levels are unlikely, eh?  ...We may be bumping up against the *problem* right there, but I digress.

...Aliens from matchless Space... in actuality! What a concept, eh?  Seriously, thrilling with regard to the good and the bad!  There's both!  There's always both.

...But a concept not substantially different from the people newly discovered in, say, a relatively just discovered North America by a barely seaworthy Europe of the post renaissance!  Spain and Portugal were the aliens then... if you were an Indian... forgetting the aliens don't have to be like Spain and Portugal.  It remains, we're the Indians.

Hopefully, it is a more fortuitous concept this time around because we have a little more knowledge and a tad more experience with which to deal! Though, again, what keeps us from this birthright of discovery that we are by no means alone in a universe infinitely grander, more wonderful and terrible than even the most intelligently artistic of us could have ever appreciated? A "reach" must exceed its "grasp", reader, or we're dull as Nancy Reagan's culottes in an age of wonder and an evolving ufological denouement!

Still, what are the roots of this brand of intellectual cowardice to which I allude? What are the mechanisms of this cowardly cultural denial as regards the ufological?

Outmoded "Tradition" and questionable "Ceremony," perhaps?  Conceivably, by those more comfortable maintaining these aforementioned traditions and ceremonies... for reasons of their own, possibly? More on that later.

James Fox considers these startling concepts, plus questions of farther potentiality... and more, reader... in his reworked film "UFOs -- Out of the Blue."  Handily, he provides the fence-sitting legitimate skeptic abundant reason to consider a side of cautious acceptance to startlingly obvious new ideas!  Perchance to  embrace the cutting edge idea that some, if not many, UFOs are intelligently controlled craft... if  craft not of Earthly manufacture... in authenticity, in actuality, in reality, and in fact? Get used to it.

You will, reader, anyway!  I suspect it is destiny kissing fate!

Fox provides ample demonstration that the truth is stranger than the fiction woven and embroidered so artfully, otherwise, by corporate entities at cross-purposes to the fellow human beings they should be serving. Unsettling but true.

Plus, he offers, believably and on balance, an ID for these back-stepping corporate entities! They are the same corporate entities, it turns out, as the ones Dwight Eisenhower warned us about so forcefully and convincingly, we're shown, at the close of Eisenhower's term in office when he left his presidency!  We know who they are, reader!

Presently, we may endure a non-elected leadership, remember, and one without humane responsibility, accountability, or conscience to justify it. Truly, it is an irresponsible leadership who has so fundamentally ignored the elected leadership, such that it is, Fox points out, and largely because they manufacture the elected leadership from persons of their own choosing, this writer observes. Verily!

Moving on, Fox's film is a stunning effort flawlessly executed by a rational team of truth seekers led by Fox, a sincere person with a serious message for the (uninformed) viewer that is SPOT-ON, in this writer's opinion!

See, Fox's production is -not- a film necessarily for the practiced student of ufology who has familiarized herself with the intricacies of the general lore -- a small minority. Fox's production is -not- a film, necessarily, for the professional researcher who has ferreted out that which -is- known about this subject (an even smaller minority) and who will, even justly, needlessly contest the validity of the production based on its few flaws.

"Out of the Blue" is, flatly, -not- a film for the rigid and reactionary debunker, a suspicious and overpowering minority given inordinate credence and hijacked mainstream support, who will unfortunately make distracting (and unethical) use of the film's aforementioned few flaws to unjustly discredit the ENTIRE sterling effort!  A pox on those bastards!

Let me re-cap this.  The STUDENT minority may be aware of all or most of the facts presented, and will ask what is new. The RESEARCHER minority will contest the validity of some of the principals used in interview and some of the ufological footage used as illustration. Too many will therefore fall into the hands (and purposes) of the conflicted DEBUNKER minority who can then crow too loudly about the testimony and involvement of controversial persons such as Doctor Greer, Colonel Corso, and Sergeant Clifford Stone.

These "skepti-bunkies" [TM] will too loudly utilize the contested inclusion of these persons in a scurrilously busy attempt to, by extension, discredit the very credible testimony of persons like Professor Sturrock, Dr. Edgar Mitchell, Gordon Cooper, Fyfe Symington, and Admiral Lord Hill Norton, exceptionally credible persons heavily featured in Fox's film.

These klasskurtxians [TM] alluded to have always used, scurrilously, the microscopic to invalidate the macroscopic!  As an analogy, democracy is being used by the aforementioned pelicanists [TM] to destroy that same democracy, so as to, perhaps, continue to hide the truth is plain sight.  Who knows but who would know?

Who is the film for then?

This film is for the person who would of needs scrape the scales from their abused and beclouded eyes. This film is for the person who is CURIOUS about the larger reality we accelerate towards with ever more apparent, unsettling, and discomfiting speed.

This film is for the person interested in a serious chronicle of events which might lead the open-minded individual to the rational conclusion proposed: that we are being visited by -- and are interacting with on some level -- off-Earth cultures!  Moreover, our *puppet* governments, motivated by their own non-elected elite for reasons of the criminally arbitrary convenience of same, have been LYING to the rank and file about it from the very beginning!  The very beginning.

...And not for the benefit of that rank and file, either... consider.

Case in point, the excessively rigid and cognitively impacted klasskurtxian will appropriate the very minimal use of an ostensibly discredited Meier and contested Mexican footage, used sparingly in Fox's film for illustration, to disqualify other, much more convincing footages of UFOs!  That's lying by no other name.

One specific footage was of a caliber to bring this jaded ufological writer right up out of his chair! This clip still dazzles after numerous reversals, slow motion frame to frame, and unending re-winds...

End of part one!  See you next month!

PART II

The ufological footage alluded to last issue opens up on a very slightly blurred and heat distorted daytime scene.  A glowing disk of indeterminate size is angling downwards in a gracefully arcing dive to the hot dry desert floor. Crash is imminent! Words on the screen say White Sands, New Mexico 1996, then fade.

The size of the object becomes more apparent as it makes ferocious contact with the parched daytime soil, gouging up what looks to be car sized clots of assaulted earth and hardpan!  These boulders of exploding detritus take many seconds to fall to the ground indicating a scale of some magnitude!

Indeed... the impact raises a huge cloud of dust that slides quickly out of frame as the camera follows the object! The unchanged and still glowing orb (!) inexplicably BOUNCES, though, like a skipping stone, and is then followed on its ricocheting trajectory back into the sky by the camera!  Hello! Folks?  I'm a retired military aviator.  Aircraft don't bounce!

The size of the object is still hard to judge but the violence of the distant impact (far beyond massive high tension electrical towers) indicates a size at least bigger and more massive than a light plane... perhaps even 747 sized! There is no hint of a tail or a fuselage or wings or a cockpit, where these things would have been, clearly, visible.

Additionally, a tough military transport plane like a C-17 would have pan-caked at the rate of closure and approach angle with which this *orb-thing* struck the ground! I've seen films of B-52s auger in with a lesser closure rate and attack angle, and they smear like a monster bug on a big windshield! Aircraft, assuredly again, don't bounce!

This thing bounced like a big smooth stone on a calm lake. It did not deform or change its appearance in any way. It did not begin to come apart or shed parts. It did not lose so much as a fraction of the strange integrity it possessed before the crash.  Indeed, it looked like it was just going to continue on its merry way completely unaffected by its initial contact with the ground.

Only when the approach --after some seconds of continued flight-- steered it to a steeper approach angle did a terrible contact with the ground seem once again inevitable! There was no bounce this time! There was; however, a monstrous and very peculiar explosion!

More earth was moved than on the first contact, and the saucer shaped orb exploded like a wineglass thrown at a brick patio, bursting into thousands of pieces of fractured light! It remains, reader, the most incredible purported UFO footage this writer has ever seen.

The preceding is typical of Fox's treatment of the ufological, one discovers.  It is a treatment as low on expected "woo-woo" as it is high on quality footage and the testimony of credible witnesses.  These are witnesses heavily represented by multinational, educational, agency, or elected government officials (and high ranking military).

This is forgetting, with some difficulty, the scurrilously axe-grinding character assassinations of Ed Mitchell and Gordo Cooper by scrofulous skeptibunkies previous to the film's first release (...smears completely and thoroughly discredited by Jerry Cohen at http://www.cohenufo.org/ I add, but I digress).

See? The vast majority of the witnesses are solid, credible, and don't have the hidden agendas of their discouraging detractors to prosecute, so reflect a more likely truth! Fox more completely and effectively catalogues credible incidents in his film, finally. Moreover, he composes the instructive associations of the very valid points being made with UFO footage that is, at minimum reader, UFO footage purported to be genuine at one time, and so then merely demonstrative! This is footage, additionally, at a minimum of screen time in no way representative of the aggregate verity of this important film as a whole! It's protest is not required, forgetting I do so here. Let's move on.

We are not alone! Does the reader understand that? So too, we are our own proof of same in a universe where what can happen, happens... and happening, promotes the accelerated ease of a subsequent happening.  Reader?  We happened.  Others are obvious when we cannot presume upon an arrogance that we were first, eh?

This is not a momentary distraction from more pressing realities, good reader, this is the reality! Fox makes that clear with a very critical, credible and convincing production. He provides convincing visuals bringing this jaded ufological viewer, at any rate, to his astonished feet!  I don't apologize.

Simply, Fox presents facts and testimonies of which the majority of viewing individuals are not aware but would find extremely interesting, I should think. Finally, he supplies proof that quality persons of world class authority find the subject of UFOs one whole lot less dismissible than the hijacked mainstream would have the individual believe, reader, and this by a long shot! See the film!

In a sidebar, this writer reminds that there are no legitimate or informed researchers sharp-shooting Fox's production or complaining about the verity of individual testimonies... that could remotely damage the credibility of this film! The testimonies included are from individual persons who for right, wrong, or indifferent reasons are a cross section of all the people pointing forcefully in the SAME freaking direction, still!

Yes... some small fraction of an otherwise auspicious whole are fake! So? SO!?!

How is that news? The fraudulent will not make the genuine any LESS genuine, despite the errant suggestions of the most vociferous debunker.  Some of everything is ALWAYS fake!

But, reader. BUT!  Some of them, in TURN, are NOT, eh?  Some things are genuine!  Let that soak in a little, eh?

Who says?  At least two US Presidents and one State Governor testifying to their own astonishing sightings plus a host of other lettered, accredited, or vetted persons!

James Fox thinks that that the preceding should give one pause to reconsider. Much of it is not fake, good reader!

Presidents have confirmed it. Science quantifies and qualifies it. Common sense, as it astonishingly turns out, DEMANDS it. All the photographic, historical and anecdotal evidence points to it, and the public can accept it, frankly, as plain as the nose on their flabbergasted faces.

Fox is conclusive with no small alacrity.  It is the future, and Fox suggests thinly, moreover, that we should begin living in it.  ...All this seems abundantly rational to me.

Fox makes the preceding more than patently clear in "UFOs -- Out of the Blue", whatever the criticism of the ax-grinding critic -- well meaning or no! He does it in an intelligent manner belying the fantastic quality of the subject matter, and he even tells the viewer who is at the bottom of the general cover-up, even if the ID is not helpful.

Who are they? "They" are the military/Industrial complex.

Who?

... Not very helpful is it?  Like trying to hold *fog* responsible for its behavior ... that's the point of corporate design, actually -- the avoidance of personal liability... responsibility. But they are, actually, human beings not entirely unlike the reader, sir and madam!

Be that as it may, Fox's fine film is an important and quality addition to the curious individual's essential library of visual and print materials regarding the *larger* reality to which I allude... a reality misleadingly rubbished in suspicious supermarket tabloids and mainstream rags, to paraphrase Admiral Lord Hill Norton from the film. Truly, the film is more than equal to the low price of its admission.

Information in that regard can be found on the film's website at:
http://tinyurl.com/2v35ra, along with more details about the film, facts regarding prestigious awards that Fox's film has won, and pertinent links to the film's earnestly convincing narrator (and founding "Digger"!), Peter Coyote.

I watched the film numerous times for this review and found it more compelling with each subsequent viewing.  It is eminently worthwhile even with its few very forgettable flaws only mentioned, at all, for a complete report!  It is concise and complete film, and it is very well executed. Finally, it portrays a certainty actually there!

Read on!

UFOs and the National Security State Vol II

UFOs and the
National Security State:
The Cover-Up Exposed, 1973-1991

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Review & Commentary
by Alfred Lehmberg
I can make no apologies for the huge admiration and respect I have for Richard Dolan. Dolan, you see, is one leg of a stalwart "quadrature of earnest consideration" I've nurtured regarding the UFO and its ancillaries. This "quadrature," providing for a complete and rational understanding of the ufological, is entirely bulletproof.  That's right.  The other three supports of that understanding, not in any particular order, are Stanton Friedman, Frank Feschino, and Robert Hastings.  Each of these prosecutes a recent work pointing wholly to that same invulnerable supposition:  UFOs and the ineffable "other," —howsoever that "other" manifests— quite simply, are.
That's right, too.  Study these entirely acceptable gentlemen, reader, and it becomes altogether, even patently, obvious that it is time for an elected —and unelected— leadership, corrupted culture, and irrelevant society to "utilize a progressive's faculties..." or get off the freaking pot regarding UFOs.  I digress, but not far.
See, all the way back in 2002, when I reviewed Dolan's first volume, it was plain that he was to be an incisive, cogent, and literate agent of historical scholarship for the post modern age. Seven years later I can report —with a tad too much pride I suppose— that he's disappointed me in no shape, way, manner, or form
To wit: unceasingly in the ufological public eye for all the aforementioned time he's maintained a solid integrity, has disgraced neither the field nor himself, and has scaled back the lid to one of the most locked down, uptight, and jealous secrets there can be, friends, in a manner acceptable in every way.  Indeed, what are UFOs, who has information in their regard, how long have they had this information, and what can it mean to us — to you and me.  That future approaches looming large.
Yes yes yes... I hear the internal dialogue of some.  Shut up.  You're wrong.  You're wrong where you are not altogether conflicted, fatuous where you are not imaginably facile, and neo-political where you are not intellectually constipated.
Bring on your "fine tooth comb," Mr. Ecker.  Bring a couple of them.  Bring them just to see who the real patriot is!  See, these persons of discursive internal —and flatulently external— dialogue don't, won't, or can't realize that one must approach the UFO, and the history of same, with a presupposing ego in decided check...  or come off writing tedious reductionist irrelevancies as tendentious as they are forgettable!
Back to Volume II, having set the initial standard bar so high himself with Volume I, Dolan would be his own hard act to follow.  Indeed, as I reappraised both the first volume and my review of it, I was filled with a certain dread that Dolan must fail to re-achieve the scholarly success of his first volume, tediously repeat himself in the second, or otherwise just fall short of the anticipation we've all felt for same over the past seven years and change.  Well, no, no, and triumphantly no.
Dolan has succeeded.  Consecutively, this writer reports, he's once again his own hard act to follow.  Consider:
"Across the Earth's skies and deep within the minds of humankind, UFOs are everywhere and nowhere."
Thus Dolan begins this literary true adventure, capturing succinctly in one sentence an underlying truth about the UFO, perhaps.  What, indeed, can be "everywhere" and nowhere," extant yet inexact, at once existential and by turns ineffable?  What!?
As Dolan will very engagingly proceed to express the essence of that ineffable, page after page, Linda Moulton Howe foreshadows in the preface that even as the imponderable is bravely pondered, Dolan still manages to keep erudite feet on the ground of an academic tradition — to sustain reasonable conjectures and extrapolations supported from what even Donald Rumsfeld would have called the "known, known."  She writes:
[Richard Dolan] unfolds how fear of E.T. disclosure in a republican system of government posed such a serious problem that clever minds "found a way to keep the original system alive while creating another, increasingly separate system that would be empowered to deal with the extraordinary intrusion of 'others' into our world." That clever but unconstitutional answer is a "breakaway civilization."
Linda Moulton HoweMore internal dialogue!  Stifle.
Verily, a segment of the ufological community would errantly propound a "problematic" LMH to dismiss Dolan, and may even be justified to some discussible degree concerning method and process employed, perhaps.  Though, it could be that a lot of the aforementioned "angst precipitated" results, reader, as she will rush in, even ill winds blown so to speak, where her detractors fear —or errantly sneer— to tread.  The woman has stone say what you will.  The debate's how much makes cold.  Though, that's not remotely the issue, really, eh?
Respectfully, Dolan returns gravitas to Ms. Howe, perhaps, gravitas unjustly lost as she pointedly does what any of us attempt to do regarding the pursuit of the outrĂ©: try to make sense of that which contrives to be nonsensical, "obstacles in the way" be damned, along with their fatuous torpedoes!  This is no campaign for faint-hearts, reader, and even the grossly underrepresented women must wear a cup.  Ms. Howe, true to herself, does, and it may be that causing the greatest pique in her fulsome detractors.
At any rate and rather bravely for that, Dolan suspects that the jury is —or should be— way out on Ms. Howe, and that time will show her to be one of the major players of the ufological milieu.
That "hurdle" easily cleared, we return to the book.  What does Dolan attempt to do with same, and how well does he succeed?  In answer, the book aspires to three points of, balanced, sincere, and cited, so therefore serious contact with the ufological.
In no particular order as the points of contact have equal reach and grasp, Volume II is a cogent entry point into the major and minor headlines in ufology, firstly, of the more factual lore as it occurred chronologically between the years 1973 and 1991.  If happenstance UFOs occurred in the aforementioned time frame the interested can read about them —plus see how they relate and each other— here.  This writer reports that Dolan's treatment of same sets the new higher standard for historic reportage as it pertains to UFO accounts, with all the details and considerations of these accounts clearly laid out in the most reasonable and understandable fashion.  If you can believe, reader, after reading Dolan's second volume you likely will believe.
Second, Dolan chronicles the scurrilous affect obviously prosecuted by agency, bureau, institution, government, society, and culture in its regard of UFOs and how that "corrosive affect" likely manifests itself on the sensibilities, motivations, and values of the individuals manipulated by the, essentially closed, "leadership" entities just iterated.  It's not good news remembering the one consequence highlighted by LMH above regarding "breakaway civilizations.  Though, the reader is much better for the knowing, this writer suspects.
The third leg of ufological contact involves discussion on how the ufological reportage, itself, has changed over those years.  What is reported by the media, how it is reported, and perhaps why it is reported... changes demonstrably over time, the reader discovers.  Forgetting the web, curious that.
This is one of the numerous informing aspects of the volume.  One wonders if the mere detection of this "evolution of reportage" does not speak directly to Dolan's as yet underappreciated genius in ferreting it out.
Changing course on our "Mr. Toad's" tour:
UFO research, in a word, was reinventing itself at the same time that it  sought to establish itself on a firm intellectual footing. This was difficult enough, but researchers could not have foreseen just how intellectually active their field would become, nor how much more arduous the task of finding a common philosophical outlook and the scientific principles upon which to base their work.
UFOs, a deepening mystery, become only more embroiled in the overall enigma as a result of a widening consideration of same because traditional science only ever founders on its shoals! The preceding quote may have been said before, but if it had, this writer hadn't heard it.  If it had, this writer's bet would be that it was not said as succinctly, as reasonably, or with as much intellectual penetration.
Penetration? How about this next gem: UFOs, somehow, as a function of their altogether cloying actuality, perhaps, provide only for the deepening of disclosure interest in these conflicted individuals, who, to varying degrees, had participated in the official cover-up of UFOs in the first place!  In parallel and going to the heart of the matter:
Responsible thinkers must ask why this was so, and [sincere ufological science] has continually been countered by official silence and dismissal.  When powerful groups dismiss something publicly, but take it seriously in private, we can assume something important is being withheld.
Critics are irritated by Dolan articulating the "uncomfortable obvious" above, this writer suspects, because Dolan is really one of them, actually.  He is one of them, a serious academic, but one out of the expected box and off their "prescribed reservation."  See, he is every bit as scholarly, believes this summa cum laude college graduate, as the aforementioned critics; every bit the subject matter expert, and then every bit —his personal library is truly gigantic— as well read.
The difference is perhaps that he is not first bound over to rigid anthropomorphism, avoids psychopathic politics secondly, and thirdly eschews the usual errant "reflex" reductionism.  He does this to perhaps behold that it just may be that humanity does not necessarily represent the best and the brightest in the galaxy, perhaps, eh?
Ouch!  Sad but true remembering a sign of intelligence is realizing when you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer!  No, he'll attempt an "alien's view" of us, as does Stanton Friedman, et sig al, and not the one —more forgiving and complimentary— we might have for ourselves.  Additionally, as a further example of his always concise incision:
Why would major newspapers and media players ignore something that, presumably, would be a major story and therefore bring in more money?
Why indeed in a print economy bemoaned as dieing on the societal vine?  Where is the profit in pursuit of the less profitable, unless... accurate history and self-honesty were never the issues at hand and the control and manipulation of the ever duped and dumbed-down social masses... are?  This does seem a reasonable conclusion!
On another tack, one is given pause by this disingenuous mainstream to consider that the powers being are only "pragmatic" and "careful" given a ufological glasnost or perestroika, so as to appear sensitive to the sensibilities of their "flock" of the "necessary" uninformed! They are, these would suggest, mere stewards and protectorates in the benignly benevolent "status quo of ignorance" and "uninformed consent" our America self-reveals.  Dolan informs us contrarily:
The world will never be ready for disclosure of this truth, just as most couples are not  ready for their first child. It will come just the same, however. Like any new parent, we  will have to learn and adjust on the fly.
Excuse me?  Does anyone else hear the entirely diplomatic reproach Dolan offers for human beings to... just grow up with regard to UFOs?  I do not exaggerate when I say that these thoughtfully inspired and instructional bon mots are liberally leavened in throughout the almost 700 pages.  Another?
Control over key components of the UFO secret have drifted further and further away from (theoretically responsible) government and military officials, and increasingly toward private entities.
The preceding begins a discussion moving the reader deftly into some pretty unsettling territory, eh?  See, UFOs, their predicted technology, and a responsible regard of them at all by an "accountable authority," is lost —entirely— when their administration is surrendered to private corporate interests as irresponsible as they are reptilianas unethical as they are unaccountable!  Given that the corporate entities described are transnational abominations of toxic self-interest —unrestricted brigands of psychopathic wealth and power accumulation— and that they abuse and betray, gleefully, the needs of trustingly hapless individuals for profit and pleasure, the reader may have some cause for alarm.  Sincerely, I sugar-coat!
If powerful private groups can so easily dominate national governments, how implausible is it that they could assume control over the UFO secret? Subsequent events indicate this almost certainly happened.
The hair on the back of the reader's neck should be driven up to a degree, or will be.
No, everyone is at the whim of the aforementioned reptile or "lizard king" that is the soulless transnational corporation, and that is a fear that penetrates —considering just the American health industry and its overweeningly huge pharmaceutical aggregate— deeply into the citizen psyche like the brutal rape of the summative public mind.  It's a continuing and ongoing rape shocking all sensibility and perhaps provoking some pathetic form of "Stockholm Syndrome" in we the abused and betrayed, or why would the following be remotely true?
Setting aside the truth value of the UFO phenomenon, it is an interesting sociological reality that so many people are unwilling to discuss the most incredible - and at times traumatic - experience of their lives. What does it say about our society that this is so?
A study of Dolan may provoke some kind of hoped for reconciliation to the rank and file from the psychopath preying on them! This might be an attitude well encouraged as the time for such approaches inexorably with deliberate speed.  When has bad news, reader, ever improved with age?  Dolan writes:
[...] In other words, humanity is in the process of reinventing itself. Any observing intelligence must be well aware that we are poised, knowingly or not, to leap into their world. We have probably been there all along, only asleep. Now we are about to wake up.
Wake up to what this reader wonders. Too, how much better served might we be as individuals if we challenge present control structures based, as they are, on our own zero-grade-and-flatulence-lighting civilization's reptilian mechanisms of wealth-extraction, reader, to share technologies suggested by UFOs... all too obviously here?  These are the questions for which Dolan provides more illuminating and informative questions.  Yes, better questions!  Questions have always been more important than answers.
See, the inevitability of the preceding becomes more evident where more and more quality people —from pauper to president— experience bona fide UFOs.  Sightings are, decidedly then, not generally restricted to conjectured mouth-breathing trailer-parkers and their visiting alcoholic and meth-cooking friends.  Actually, the inverse is true, Dolan shows.
Additionally, persons very highly placed in institution, government, and society —persons with some knowledge of which they speak— ponder the imponderable, consider the unspeakable, and begin to utter the utterly unutterable... to Richard Dolan.
Major General Albert Stubblebine [once a key player in the architecture of American military intelligence], who for years managed the Star Gate program, said "I will tell you for the record that there are structures underneath the surface of Mars .... I will also tell you that there are machines under the surface of Mars that you can look at."
What strange dark forces swim around us like coercive sharks, reader, malignly manipulative and performing no service for the individual paying the bill... but ice cold mendacity.  What smoke filled room or collection of same provides for:
[...]Watergate was in all likelihood allowed to occur, and quite possibly made to occur.
See, the recently televised You-Tube admission to Sarah McClendon by former President Bill Clinton gives further pause.   His answer to a question pertaining to UFOs posited a "government" within a government of the United States.  This is a "government" within a government that the Supreme Commander and Topmost leader of the most powerful nation in the world, does not oversee... by admission
A question is begged.  Who or what does oversee the greatest story of this or any other century so loath to be told?  Dolan is a definite aid in forming better questions to ask about that singular question and satisfies the reader in a manner seeing forest for trees on these disturbing issues.  Forewarned is forearmed.  Consider the following, again.
If powerful private groups can so easily dominate national governments, how implausible is it that they could assume control over the UFO secret? Subsequent events indicate this almost certainly happened.
As to how the paucity of "official" regard for UFOs has provided for the demonstration of that officiality's irrelevance, only, and may have even facilitated at least one failed Presidency, Carter's, Dolan provides for the notion that official disclosure is ever a "bait and switch" affair complicated by broken promises, unending misdirection, outright obfuscation, and that effortless mendaciousness forever denied by that same officialdom at the behest of unaccountable private interests!  Nothing else could be true, it would seem.
Carter wanted to know about [UFOs] “as President.” According to what Smith told Sheehan, [CIA Director G.H.W] Bush rejected this request, and said “this was information that existed on a need to know basis only. Simple curiosity on the part of the President wasn’t adequate.”
Too, even Presidents aspiring to honesty can be hamstrung by shadowy private interests:
[Subsequent events provided for] a lost [presidential disclosure] opportunity, for in January 1977 came the release of a study on UFO sightings and beliefs of professional American astronomers by Peter Sturrock of Stanford University. Sturrock mailed out 2,611 questionnaires, with half (1,356) being completed and returned.  Sixty-two respondents – nearly 5% – said they had witnessed or obtained an instrumental record of an event that they could not identify and which they thought might be related to UFOs. Moreover, 80% favored additional scientific study of UFOs. In other words, a pretext was there for Carter to have used, had he tried to press the matter.
So much for Astronomers never seeing UFOs, right Doctor Plait? More proof of contrived and facilitated official impotence:
[...meanwhile, Jodie Powell, Carter's press secretary], was the source of a surprising statement carried in the April U.S. News and World Report:
"Before the year is out, the Government - perhaps the President - is expected to make what are described as ‘unsettling disclosures’ about UFOs unidentified flying objects. Such revelations, based on information from the CIA, would be a reversal of official policy that in the past has downgraded UFO incidents."
Reader?  What or who provides for the unjust destructions of good men and women?  ...More internal dialogue?  Push a sock in it.
Yes, Dolan has been falsely maligned regarding his preceding volume, to wit: that he wrote without regard to "fact" and "fiction" in as much as he did not clearly identify which was which in the narrative.  That's bat-squeeze.
This, reader, is the bogus charge setting the tone for all subsequent bogus charges, this writer can show  —apart from blatant politically motivated ones facilitated by belligerent right-wing whack jobs— and it is a charge resented bitterly by Dolan, and this writer, as without foundation, ultimately a result of hurt feelings of the instigator and so subjectively canted, but, at the wire, completely unacceptable
See, especially with regard to UFOs and their ancillaries, one can take confirmed facts and lay out a frame of what seems to have happened convincingly enough, even with obligatory gaps.  Unconfirmed reportage, balanced conjecture, and even second and third hand accounts continue to have enormous value; however, where they are blind to one another, internally consistent, and serve to bear out the factually based initial frame.  Remaining to be seen, of course, but still an indictor of where the truth might more likely lie.  A best place to look!
Dolan shows "which," as which, clearly.  He takes pains to accomplish same:
The reader is reminded that these are not confirmed accounts [about a UFO case under discussion], and the last [account] involves some information which is third-hand. They are offered here as provisional stories which are consistent with the confirmed events related previously.
Given the slippery-when-wet-taboo subject matter, how much better would one want it?
Closing, I remind the reader that a history regarding UFOs is not all you get with Dolan in Volume I or II.  The reader is served a richly cited panoply of powerful players outside, but surrounding, the UFO question. These are individuals clearly manipulating information while practicing the mendaciousness alluded to above.  This is to say that associations and activities of these A-list characters outline the effects they have on known events, events a mere step away from that which we are precluded from knowing regarding UFOs.  This lack of forthcomingness is, traditionally, not in our best interest.
Verily, Vol II proves to be one-stop-shopping on a seemingly endless succession of revisitable ufological nine course meals and superior in every regard!  A new gold standard has been set, sincerely, as Dolan has once again credited the ufological standard as no others yet have.  He's eclipsed even himself, actually, as I said before.  Others will be short of the bar Dolan has set for years, I'm betting.
Suffice to say, the expectation of II has not exceeded the event of II forgetting "opinions" will vary, I'm sure, eh?  ...Even if I can't see how.  It remains; I am most gratified by the book... and another one coming, reader! Yow!
